Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy Technician

Full Time

Wages upwards to $21 per hour DOE

Hire on Bonus, $1,000

Med-X Staffing seeks to fill 2 Medical Assistant positions with candidates who have strong phlebotomy skills. Schedules for these positions can be 6:45am to 3:15pm or 8am to 4:30pm Monday thru Friday with a rotation of weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient information and record pertinent medical data
  • Measure vital signs, and ensure accurate patient flow
  • Assist in patient care and complete diagnostic coding and procedure coding
  • Prepare patients for minor procedures, Injection education and instruction
  • Medication education and instruction, and perform phlebotomy
  • Counsel patient by transmitting practitioner's orders
  • Maintain inventory of clinical and surgical supplies
  • Completing test requisitions and imaging orders
  • Maintaining equipment and performing preventative maintenance
  • Cleaning and maintaining clinical instruments
  • Process medical records, and process prior authorizations
  • Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge
  • Adheres to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal and state requirements
  • Appropriately use relative computer applications
  • Process prescription refill requests

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited MA program, e.g., ABHES or CAAHEP with strong phlebotomy training/skills
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Possess a MA credential or obtain the credential within 90 day introductory period
  • Require a current BLS or CPR certification
  • Must show proof of COVID vaccine
